Warda Elamad is a doctoral student in Chemistry with a concentration in Nutrition at Georgia State University, where she conducts clinical and molecular research on cardiometabolic and cognitive health under Dr. Rafaela Feresin. Her research spans dietary interventions for hypertension and prediabetes, the gut-brain axis, and the effects of polyphenol-rich foods like berries and tocotrienols. She also previously contributed to a clinical trial at Emory University examining the metabolic and neurological outcomes of Palynziq therapy in individuals with PKU.
Beyond the lab, she has served as a graduate teaching assistant in undergraduate chemistry courses. She holds a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Florida International University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
With a strong foundation in both human and animal research, Warda’s expertise includes dietary assessment, behavioral testing in mouse models, Western blotting, and metabolic phenotyping. She has presented her work at multiple scientific conferences and is a recipient of the Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship and the Dr. Mildred “Missy” Cody Travel Endowment in Nutrition.
