I am a nutritional and molecular epidemiologist leveraging diet and omics data from large prospective cohort studies and complementary randomized controlled trials to identify dietary biomarkers and understand molecular mechanisms contributing to cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes risk. I was recently awarded a K01 from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) to support my ongoing research focused on understanding the biological mechanisms underlying the effects of sugar and artificially sweetened beverages on health to inform personalized dietary recommendations.
