Lisa is a PhD candidate and NIH T32 MCN trainee at Cornell University under the guidance of Barb Strupp and Rick Canfield. Before arriving at Cornell, she was a professional ballet dancer. After retirement, she graduated, summa cum laude, from NYU with her bachelor's in Nutrition and Dietetics. She then worked at Columbia University's Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she managed phase 1 2 and 3 chemotherapy clinical trials. She later got her master's degree in human nutrition from University of Copenhagen under the mentorship of Nina Geiker and Faidon Magkos where she focused her research on maternal and child nutrition. She is passionate about health equity for women and children, and hopes her research will improve pregnancy outcomes in the US and abroad. In her free time she enjoys running, creating block prints, solving the NY times crossword, and spending time with her husband, dog, and cat.
