Dr. Conrey is an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in the Dept of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences. She completed her training, including an MS in Nutritional Sciences, a PhD in Epidemiology, and a molecular epidemiology postdoc at the University of Cincinnati. Her primary research interests are factors that affect early childhood nutrition and subsequent health outcomes, including developmental, chronic, and infectious disorders. She has published work on socio-economic environment and social determinants of health as predictors of breastfeeding duration, child complementary diet quality, and early childhood obesity. Her current research focus is how environmental, socio-economic, and maternal health factors influence breastfeeding, including both the ability to breastfeed and the composition of human milk. During to her work on the CDC-funded PREVAIL cohort, she mentored several students and fellows through research projects and coauthored papers on pediatric infectious diseases, breastfeeding disparities, and epidemiologic methods. She is currently coinvestigator on the MOM2CHild Cohort, which aims to interrogate the human milk system from a multi-omics approach, including factors associated with maternal metabolic health.
