Student/ Graduate Research Assistant
University of Kentucky
My name is Mansura Shahad Bawa, a graduate student at the University if Kentucky. I worked as a nutritionist in Ghana with the Ghana Health Service for 3 years before moving to the United States for graduate school. I worked mostly as an educator in maternal and child health, hypertension, diabetes and obesity. I am now a graduate research assistant with the Meals That Heal Project at the University of Kentucky. This project aims to create and provide culturally relevant meals that will align with the Dietary Approch to Stop Hypertension Diet for Black women.
I am devoted to enhancing health outcomes in marginalized communities, especially via culturally appropriate nutrition education and evidence-based nutritional interventions.
