Research Assistant Professor
Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing
I am a public health researcher who investigates the origins of disparities in cardiovascular health among children and adolescents from low-income and racially or ethnically diverse families. I am interested in better understanding the pathways through which risk factors and social inequalities impact health, and advancing the identification of modifiable and resilience promoting factors that can buffer the toxic effects of social adversity and contribute to reduce risks for and disparities in obesity and cardiovascular disease.
I am an experienced qualitative and quantitative researcher with transdisciplinary training in community health and cardiovascular epidemiology; skilled and experienced in data collection, community participatory research, and bilingual (Spanish) survey research. I am also passionate about public health, I love mentoring, specially motivated students from URM backgrounds and junior researchers whom like me, are working towards bridging gaps in healthcare.
