Jamilah Wells is a chemistry undergraduate researcher at Georgia State University, currently researching the effects of mixed berry supplementation in an angiotensin II (ANG-II) induced rat model of kidney dysfunction. Her project explores how polyphenol-rich berries may reduce oxidative stress and inflammation caused by ANG-II. Through the technique of Western blotting, Jamilah investigates key biomarkers important in antioxidant defenses and inflammatory signalling. Her research aims to provide insight on the potential protective role of dietary interventions in mitigating renal dysfunction.
