Dr Jai K Das works as an Asssociate Director at the Institute for Global Health and Development and Associate Professor for the Division of Women and Child Health at the Aga Khan University, Karachi.
He has been actively involved in research including community and clinical based trials, population-based surveys, qualitative, mixed methods research and evidence based systematic reviews. He is the author of more than 250 peer-reviewed international papers (H-Index>70) with 30 publications in Lancet Journals and has contributed to more than 25 book chapters. He is also the editor of the book ‘Pakistan, SDGs and Health’ and ‘Climate Change and Water-Related Challenges in Pakistan: Tangible Solutions’. He has various international recognitions including the Falcon Awards for Disease Elimination, named amongst top 2% of scientists globally (Stanford), ranked number 1 amongst Scientists in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities in Pakistan and top 1% globally by research.com and more recently ranked amongst the top 0.1% of highly cited researcher globally by Clarivate.
He is on the editorial board of various journals. He has worked on various reports which have been used to influence policy both nationally and internationally and has been on guideline committees and working groups for WHO. He holds a strong interest in academics and actively conducts training workshops and is involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. His interests are related to the use of evidence in policy and programs, including estimates of burden of disease, estimating effectiveness of various interventions, development of research capacity and strengthening public health.
