Kaelyn Burns is a postdoctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute. She recently completed her PhD in Epidemiology at the University at Buffalo, and she has a master’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Delaware. Kaelyn currently serves as the Secretary for the Student Interest Group of ASN. Kaelyn’s research is in nutritional epidemiology, focusing on the role of dietary intake in chronic disease development. Kaelyn was awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Individual Predoctoral Fellowship (F31) from the NHLBI to support her dissertation, which aimed to clarify the interplay between a diet high in choline, metabolism, the gut microbiome, and their effects on atherosclerosis.
