Andrew Hall's research focuses on the development and evaluation of approaches to estimating zinc nutritional status and its relationship to health through the life course. Dr. Hall’s expertise includes novel biomarkers of zinc-dependent functions, and the application of zinc tracer methodologies for the determination of dietary zinc absorption and cellular utilization. The long-term goals of this research are to increase knowledge of life stages, disease states and other factors that may alter physiological requirements for zinc, towards developing strategies to improve health in populations at risk for zinc deficiency.
