Undergraduate and Medical student
University of Southern Denmark, Denmark
I, Celina Le Rosenørn, am an undergraduate student in the medical program at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense. As an undergraduate student, I am currently involved in the research project "Vitamin D Status in Pregnancy and Its Association with Offspring Lung Function and Asthma at Age 12: An Odense Child Cohort Study."
Our research involves a prospective cohort study, nested in OCC (Odense Child Cohort), examining the role of vitamin D during pregnancy in the development of children's lungs, with a particular emphasis on asthma and lung function among a cohort of 12-year-olds from Funen.
This study is a collaborative effort between the H.C. Andersen Research Unit and the Environmental Medicine Research Unit at Odense University Hospital. Alongside my studies, I work in a pediatric and adolescent clinic, where I particularly engage with children who have asthma and/or allergy issues. Here, I closely observe how this disease can be debilitating in children's daily lives and significantly impact their overall well-being. It is through working with these children that my interest in researching asthma prevention has developed. Additionally, I am involved in research as a student assistant at OCC and assist with data collection for a project concerning infant reflux in the pediatric clinic.
My interest and engagement in this field are profound. I aspire to work and conduct further research in this area, contributing to improving the daily lives of affected children and adults.
