I have a background in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, with a broad research focus on the pathophysiology of disease. My current projects include investigating human trophoblast function during pregnancy, particularly the role of the inflammasome in regulating inflammatory pathways and cytokine release. I also conduct metabolite profiling in various tissues. Using cell models, I explore novel biomarkers of toxicological exposure and examine the biological effects of environmental polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on brain toxicity, as well as the mechanisms underlying protein aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, I employ animal models to study pathological changes and apply a wide range of biological and biochemical techniques to understand disease mechanisms. My work also involves the purification and evaluation of bioactive phytochemicals, focusing on their potential benefits for male fertility and their role as therapeutic agents.
