Corby Martin is a Professor and Director of the Ingestive Behavior, Weight Management, & Health Promotion Laboratory at Pennington Biomedical, which is part of the Louisiana State University System. Dr. Martin also serves as the Director of the Human Phenotyping Core of Pennington Biomedical’s Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC). Dr. Martin completed his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Louisiana State University and a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. The overarching goal of Dr. Martin’s research is to study factors that affect energy balance and weight change, and to develop tools and interventions to help people live healthier lives through diet and exercise. Dr. Martin and colleagues developed technology-based weight management interventions that have successfully been delivered in clinical settings and remotely via mobile health technology. Dr. Martin also develops and deploys smartphone apps to assess food intake and related behaviors, and he studies the effects of energy imbalance on appetite and other constructs.
