Objectives: Stress and anxiety become more common part of life than ever before and the leading cause of many of the chronic disease, reason for which they shouldn't be ignored.
Iris examination can represent a very useful non-invasive tool identifying the real underlying causes, evident predisposition, or the ability of the body to cope successfully with this condition. Various iris signs can point to certain functional or nutritional deficiencies and by knowing that, prevention and treatment become much easier.
The main purpose of this study is to show the educational and preventive value iris evaluation can have in helping individuals to be the best version of themselves.
Methods: Iris evaluation has been used on a routine basis in all individuals presented for nutritional counseling. HD photos of the iris obtained by using Quik Vue Plus a dedicated camera device were scanned using Iridology Station 5.1 software. Particular stress/anxiety predisposition signs were classified as Low/Medium/High according to intensity and frequency. Individuals presenting these were subject to a personalized nutritional and lifestyle medicine interventions protocol, continuing health education and follow-up.
Results: A number of 69 individuals ( 24 M, 45 F ), ages 6-73, were evaluated as a routine health check-up or when complaining for minor issues. Particular stress and anxiety predisposition signs were identified in 19 M and 38 F, of which: High( H ) in 13% F and 13.3% M , and Medium ( M) inĀ 33% F and 9% M . Marked signs in the school-age participants ( age 6-16 ) were observed in 15%F and 13%M . Positive results after intervention should consist in a reduction of the intensity of the signs , or frequency of symptoms. The protocol in most cases included Vit.B and Magnesium supplementation, and as much as possible reduction of inflammatory foods.
Conclusions: Though further study, in more depth and on a larger number of participants, would be absolutely necessary for validation and better accuracy, the present exercise proved that iris evaluation - a non-invasive and very easy method - can represent a handy way of enhancing the quality of studying the case and match the appropriate lifestyle interventions needed . It provides as well an excellent platform for using various educational tools, helping in the process of promoting dietary and wellness outcomes in the community.
