Demewoz Haile, PhD, is a Research Scientist at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington. He leads the analysis of micronutrient deficiencies for the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study and Cause of Death modeling related to undernutrition, while also overseeing the modeling of dietary risk factors. He is committed to developing advanced modeling frameworks to improve the estimation of micronutrient deficiencies, child nutrition, and dietary risk factors, with the aim of raising the profile of these issues on the global health agenda. Prior to joining IHME, he earned his PhD in Nutritional Biology with a designated emphasis in international and community nutrition from the University of California, Davis.
