Yongsoon Park is currently a professor of the Department of Food and Nutrition, and dean of College of Human Ecology at Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea. She received B.S. degree in Food and Nutrition from Hanyang University, her M.S. from the Department of Nutrition, State University of New York at Buffalo, and her Ph.D. from the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, Washington State University. Professor Park was granted a fellowship for post-doctoral study at Saint Luke’s Hospital’s Lipid and Diabetes Research Centre which is part of the University of Missouri in Kansas City, and worked as senior researcher at the Endocrine Research Unit of Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles, reviews, and book chapters mostly on the importance of diet, such as n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and protein in health and disease. She is a life-time member of The Korean Academy of Science and Technology, and president-elect of Korean Nutrition Society. She also has served as a consultant to the Korean Government and editor of Nutrition Research, Journal of Medicinal Food, and Journal of Nutrition and Practice.
