I am a PhD student in Nutrition at Purdue University, researching the impact of dietary fiber on the gut microbiome of patients with chronic kidney disease. As a clinical nutritionist, I have experience in conducting research on dietary intake, metabolic diseases, and the gut microbiome, with skills in conducting RCTs, secondary data analysis, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. During my master's at Kansas State University, I assisted in recruiting participants, conducting phlebotomy, and managing data for clinical trials at Lafene Health Center. My master’s thesis involved analyzing data from the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA) to study the effects of plant-based versus animal-source foods on gut microbiome metabolites in patients with metabolic syndrome. I also interned at Kellogg’s and Ingredion Companies, working on ultra-processed foods and claim substantiation for resistant starch type II. My research interests focus on how dietary changes can influence gut microbiome composition and its metabolites in chronic diseases, especially in cardiovascular kidney metabolic syndrome aiming to apply research findings to clinical settings and industry, thereby bridging gaps between academia and industry by focusing on pre/probiotic usage.
