Ruyu is a postdoctoral research assosicate at the Neurocognitive Health Behavior Laboratory (PI: Dr. Naiman Khan) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She earned her PhD in Community Nutrition (Advisor: Dr. Roger Figueroa) from the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University. Her dissertation focused on the effectiveness and implementation of food pantry-led nutrition interventions. Prior to her PhD, Ruyu completed a BS in Dietetics, MS in Nutritional Sciences, and obtained the Registered Dietitian credential at the University of Illinois. Ruyu uses both quantitative and qualitative methods in her research, focusing on community-based health interventions for populations with low socioeconomic status.
