Ph.D. Candidate
Purdue University
West Lafayette, Indiana, United States
I am a doctoral candidate in Nutrition Science at Purdue University. My research examines how nutrition, both excesses and deficiencies, affects neurodevelopment and metabolic health across the lifespan, with a particular focus on women, children, and adolescents. My work combines dietary assessment, large-scale data analysis, and intervention studies in both U.S. and international contexts. During my graduate studies, I have investigated how the variety of energy-dense foods influences food intake and obesity risk among adolescents, evaluated the impact of fortified foods on iron status in women in India, and am currently exploring the relationship between iron deficiency, brain development, and adiposity risk in youth. My research has been recognized by awards such as the Karyl Rickard Scholarship for pediatric nutrition and top honors in science communication competitions, both within and outside the university. In addition to research, I have experience teaching and mentoring students in nutrition science, and I am committed to making nutrition science accessible to diverse audiences.
