Laina is a doctoral student in the Department of Nutrition at UNC-Chapel Hill, additionally pursuing a minor in Epidemiology. Her research focuses on the intersection of nutrition with human and environmental health. She is a Registered Dietitian with experience in both clinical and research settings prior to starting at UNC. She holds a Master of Science in Public Health in Human Nutrition from the International Health Department at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and she completed a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at Kansas State University.
