Dr. Chong-Chi Chiu graduated from the College of Medicine of National Taiwan University in 1999. He has more than 24 years of experience in general surgery. Besides the clinical affairs and research, he obtained a degree of EMBA at College of Business of the University of Texas at Arlington, U.S. in 2007 and a diploma in laparoscopic surgery from the University of Strasbourg of France in 2017.
He is a Professor of School of Medicine, College of Medicine, I-Shou University, and a faculty of Asian Institute of Telesurgery (IRCAD Taiwan). He is also a member of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA), Asia Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL), Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS), and Asia-Pacific Bariatric Surgery Society (APBSS).
He specializes in minimally invasive digestive surgery, bariatric surgery, hernia surgery, surgical oncology. He is also an expert of Pressurized IntraPeritoneal Aerosolized Chemotherapy (PIPAC), CytoReductive Surgery (CRS), and Hyperthermic IntraPEritoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC). He has been accredited by the International Society for Study of Pleura and Peritoneum (ISSPP) and the Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group International (PSOGI).
He has published more than one hundred and sixty papers on his research (ORCID number: 0000-0002-1696-2648) and gained two surgical instrument patents in Taiwan. He serves as an editorial board member for several international journals. He has also obtained the honor of Professor of Ministry of Education of Taiwan.
