Dr. Ya-Fan (Holly) Chung is a public health nutrition researcher and program evaluation specialist in global health. As a recent PhD graduate from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, her dissertation research focused on assessing usual nutrient intakes and developing food-based recommendations for Filipino schoolchildren (5-9 years old) in high-risk areas. Holly previously served as a Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist and later as an Acting Portfolio Manager for West Africa at international NGOs, where she managed a $2.5 million investment portfolio across three countries and provided technical oversight for health and nutrition programs. Holly has conducted fieldwork in the Philippines, Mongolia, Taiwan, and West Africa, collaborating with organizations including Helen Keller International, the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Philippines, and the International Medical Corps. She holds a PhD in International Health (Human Nutrition) from Johns Hopkins and an MPH from the University of Michigan. Holly is proficient in English and Mandarin and has also been working on her intermediate-level French.
