Dr. Owen-Michaane works as a Nutrition Support Specialist and serves as the Assistant Director of the Nutrition Support Service at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He is an expert in parenteral nutrition and coordinating high-quality interdisciplinary nutrition care. Dr. Owen-Michaane earned his MD from the University of Kentucky and completed his residency at New York University Langone Medical Center. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in biomedical informatics at Columbia University. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the National Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists, and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. His research includes investigation of the role of inflammation in malnutrition, incidence of central line bloodstream infections associated with parenteral nutrition, and novel biomarkers for sarcopenia.
