Aishat Gambari is a doctoral candidate in the Nutrition & Health Sciences PhD program at Emory Rollins School of Public Health. She is a mixed-methods researcher interested in global maternal child health, infant feeding and nutrition. Aishat’s research explores new ways to promote optimal breastfeeding practices among diverse populations and to improve the implementation of lactation supportive practices at multiple levels of society. Prior to her training at Emory, Aishat served as a research and communications assistant at the Center for Health Equity, Education, and Research (CHEER). In this role, she led the center's qualitative studies and dissemination efforts, and supported the main quality improvement project, CHAMPS, which focuses on breastfeeding support and implementation research through the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. Aishat holds a Masters degree in Public Health, with a specialization in global health, from Washington University in St. Louis.
