DR. (MRS) CHIDI IJEOMA NOSIRI (BIOGRAPHY)
Dr. (Mrs) Chidi Ijeoma Nosiri is a distinguished Nigerian academic and researcher, serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu. She also holds the position of Associate Dean in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences ABSU.
Dr. Nosiri's research interests lie at the intersection of Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and Ethnopharmacology. She is particularly focused on investigating the Nutritional assessment, bioactive components of indigenous plants and their medicinal benefits in humans.
Dr. Nosiri has contributed to several scholarly publications. Notably, she co-authored chapters in the books "Pesticides in the Modern World" and "Emerging Contaminants," discussing the impact of pesticides on human health and the role of emerging agricultural contaminants in global warming . Her research also includes studies on the anti-ulcer activity of Laportea aestuans leaf extract and the effects of Aframomum melegueta seed extract on diabetic rats .
In addition to her academic and research roles, Dr. Nosiri is an active member of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), American Society for Nutrition (ASN), American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) reflecting her commitment to advancing scientific research and mentorship in Nigeria and beyond.
