Dr. Antonella Cano earned her degree in Pharmacy in 2009. In 2015, she was awarded a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. Her early research focused on innate immunity and parasitology, through which she gained expertise in cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
In 2023, she completed a four-year Specialization School in Nutritional Science at the University of Sassari and she was awarded the title of Nutritional Science Specialist (MPhil). Since 2023, she has held the position of Researcher at the University Hospital of Sassari.
Her current research focuses on the nutritional status of the older population and in age-related clinical conditions. Specifically, she investigates the effects of lifestyle factors on physiological and pathological aging, with particular attention to the underlying biological mechanisms.
