Postdoctoral Research Associate
Prairie View A&M University
I am a public health nutritionist with about 10years of experience in public health research, with a focus on community health, nutrition, and social determinants of health. I hold a PhD in public health nutrition from University of Ibadan, Nigeria and recently concluded a postdoctoral research project with Texas A&M AgriLife Institute for Advancing Health through Agriculture where I worked on a USDA-funded project. The project was focused on addressing food insecurity among Prairie View A&M University students. Prior to that, for my PhD research, I assessed nutritional health among an underserved population (Ekiti State, Nigeria) where I carried out a food consumption and nutrition survey and assessed dietary diversity as a proxy to measure micronutrient adequacy among women of reproductive age in the State. My expertise encompasses both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including survey design, data analysis using SPSS and Stata, and mixed-methods research. Over the years, I have helped establish academic programs including the Nutrition and dietetics program at Bowen University and LAUTECH. Beyond academia, I have also occasionally engaged with the community through nutrition and health seminars. I am committed to advancing public health through innovative nutrition programs and behavioral change strategies.
