Professor Magnus Michael Chukwudike Anyakudo is a distinguished, astute Physician, Researcher, and Academic known for his contributions to the fields of Nutrition, Medicine, Physiology, and Diabetes research. With a robust academic background, Anyakudo has held positions at several reputable institutions in Nigeria, including the Eko University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Ondo State University of Medical Sciences, Bowen University Iwo, and University of Ibadan. Currently, he works at Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State, as the Chair of the Department of Human Physiology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Health Sciences. Prof. Anyakudo has received several awards to his credit at international, national, and local levels in recognition of his renowned academic excellence and outstanding pioneering contributions towards the development and advancement of the educational sector in nation-building and humanity.
His research primarily focuses on the effects of dietary interventions on health outcomes, particularly in the context of diabetes and related metabolic disorders. Notable publications include studies on the determination of glycemic indices and loads of various foods and diets and their impacts on overall health, the effects of different diets on glycemic control, reproductive potential, wound healing, and biochemical variables in diabetic rats, the impacts of minerals and vitamins supplementation on pancreatic islets cell regeneration, dyslipidaemia and oxidative stress, as well as organs histopathologic response to diets in diabetic models. These works reflect a commitment to advancing understanding of nutritional strategies that can mitigate health issues prevalent in various populations.
