Dr. Larson's primary areas of research are maternal and child nutrition, early childhood development, and global health. Her research has focused on studying the impact of nutrition and psychosocial stimulation interventions, investigating prenatal and postnatal exposures that influence child health and development, and the measurement of nutritional and developmental outcomes. She has worked on several trials in pregnancy and childhood in countries such as Liberia, Ghana, India, Bangladesh, and Malawi.
