Victoria Adebiyi is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior. She obtained a Master of Public Health degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition and dietetics from Nigeria. She has acquired clinical, academic, and global health work experiences. Her dissertation which is funded by a training grant from Nestle Foundation aims to describe the breastfeeding decision-making process of working mothers in urban South-West Nigeria, and the influences on mothers’ breastfeeding decisions and practices. She is passionate about the design and evaluation of interventions and policies to improve maternal and child nutrition, and food security especially in developing countries. She is also interested in nutrition transition and obesity, and the relationship between nutrition and gender in limited-resource contexts.
