Chronic pain affects more Americans than heart disease, diabetes and cancer combined, though little attention is paid by the scientific community. Recently, there is evidence that diet quality may play a role in the development and potential treatment of chronic pain conditions. This session will address basic science, clinical, and epidemiological works, including current interventions, surrounding nutrition and chronic pain. These works will include proposed mechanisms that nutrients may influence to impact pain outcomes.
