Jaspreet Kaur is a Ph.D. student in Human Nutritional Sciences at the University of Manitoba, Canada, with a strong academic background in Nutrition and Dietetics. She holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics from Lovely Professional University and a Bachelor’s degree from Guru Nanak Dev University, both earned with university gold medals. Before starting her doctoral studies, she gained over five years of experience in academia and healthcare. Her current research focuses on the functional and nutritional properties of plant-based foods, particularly sunflower seed proteins and chlorogenic acid. She has authored over 55 peer-reviewed papers and 12 book chapters, and has presented her work at national and international conferences, earning awards such as the Best Poster Award at the Global Indian Young Scientists Conference (2023). Jaspreet is also a recipient of the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship and the Marian Campbell Scholarship. Her interests include food proteins, bioactive compounds, and functional food development.
