Dr. Javier A. Tamargo is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Florida, where he is affiliated with the Pain Research and Intervention Center of Excellence, the Institute on Aging, and the Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center. He is a board-certified Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and is currently fully dedicated to research focused on the intersection of pain and aging. Dr. Tamargo's research interests lie in understanding the role of nutrition and nutrition-based interventions in pain management and the maintenance of physical and cognitive function in older adults. He aims to promote health, longevity, and independence among the elderly by exploring how dietary factors can influence pain perception and aging processes. His work involves developing targeted nutritional strategies to improve the quality of life for older adults.
