Over the years, my research has evolved to emphasize the intersection of nutrition, aging, and cognitive health, especially in relation to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD). Over the years, I have served as both Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI on numerous studies, drawing on my extensive experience in nutrition education and behavioral weight management. My work integrates behavioral strategies such as self-monitoring and goal setting to support sustainable health improvements. Recently, I became a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), further enhancing my ability to work effectively with individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. I have mentored over 80 student research assistants, fostering the next generation of researchers, and I actively contribute to state and national initiatives through my roles on the Alzheimer’s Disease Advisory Committee (ADAC), the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) for ADRD, and the Alzheimer’s Association’s International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment (ISTAART).
