Sidney Murray is a graduate of the PhD program in Behavior, Cognition, and Neuroscience. She studied under Dr. Katie Holton in the Nutritional Neuroscience Lab, specializing in the effects of removing dietary unbound glutamate on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and its biomarkers, including cortisol and electroencephalography (EEG). Sidney is passionate about researching non-pharmaceutical treatments for mental illness that target underlying neuropathology. After graduation, Sidney will start at the University of Maryland School of Medicine as a postdoctoral fellow researching the effects of gluten-free and ketogenic diets on schizophrenia under the direction of Dr. Deanna Kelly. Before receiving her PhD, Sidney received her BA in Psychology from Wake Forest University, her MA in Psychology from Appalachian State University, and her MS in Neuroscience from American University.
