Cassandra Swanson is a graduate student in the MS Human Nutrition program at Texas State University and a dietetic intern for the 2025–2026 academic year. Under the mentorship of Dr. Ramona Price, her thesis research focuses on vitamin D deficiency, obesity, and the role of diet in promoting metabolic dysfunction across the gut-liver axis and the development of fatty liver disease. After graduation, Cassandra plans to take the RD exam and pursue a PhD in Nutrition. Her long-term goal is to become a PhD-trained Registered Dietitian and nutrition researcher.
