Ph.D. Student
University of Massachusetts Amherst
I’m Xiaoqi Wang, a first-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Nutrition at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I hold an M.S. in Food and Nutrition Policy and Programs from Tufts University’s Friedman School, and my research focuses on innovative, community-engaged strategies to improve food and nutrition security. Currently, I’m conducting a cost-effectiveness analysis of farm-to-food-bank procurement models versus traditional donation-based systems. Before beginning my doctoral studies, I worked as a Community Health Worker at Boston Medical Center, where I partnered with immigrant and low-income families to address barriers to accessing nutritious food.
