Dr. Amara Ezeamama is an Associate Professor at Michigan State University with expertise in clinical epidemiology. Her research explores the intersections of nutrition, health, and HIV. Her work focuses on how nutritional status—particularly deficiencies like vitamin D and fatty acids—impacts immune recovery, cognitive function, and overall well-being in individuals living with or exposed to HIV. She leads studies in sub-Saharan Africa examining long-term health outcomes in children and adults affected by HIV, with a goal of identifying modifiable factors that can improve resilience and quality of life in vulnerable populations. She is an NIH funded principal investigator whose research program aims to inform interventions that integrate nutrition and HIV care to promote wellbeign across the life course.
