Alicyn Dickman is a registered dietitian and a graduate fellow in the OSUN Interdisciplinary PhD Program in Nutrition at The Ohio State University. She completed her undergraduate training in business administration at Southern New Hampshire University before pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and a Master of Dietetics and Nutrition at The Ohio State University. While completing her master’s degree, Alicyn studied the use of motivational interviewing in dietetics and examined the rigor of the existing motivational interviewing dietetic curriculum, gaining unique insight into biobehavioral research. Before beginning her PhD, Alicyn worked as a pediatric dietitian with a particular interest in critical illness. She has received additional training in enteral and parenteral nutrition provision and is a Board-Certified Nutrition Support Clinician. Alicyn works in Dr. Sanja Ilic’s laboratory, conducting research focused on the intersection of nutrition and food safety education. She is currently exploring the health impacts of commercially available meal solutions and developing food-based nutrition and food safety interventions for individuals who are highly susceptible to foodborne illness. Alicyn is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the American Society for Nutrition, and the International Association of Food Protection. She currently serves as the Chair of Professional Interest for the Columbus Dietetic Association.
