Dr. Brie Turner-McGrievy is a Professor at the University of South Carolina in the Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior and Deputy Director for the TecHealth Center in the Arnold School of Public Health. She received her Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Registered Dietitian credentials from the University of Alabama. She completed her doctoral degree in nutrition and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Growing up in Alabama helped shape Dr. Turner-McGrievy’s passion for identifying and implementing creative strategies to improve dietary quality in the South. Since joining the Arnold School, she has been committed to working with the community on culturally appropriate dietary interventions to improve health outcomes, particularly among African American adults. Dr. Turner-McGrievy has over 180 publications and has secured more than $13 million in grant funding. Dr. Turner-McGrievy’s research focuses on behavioral nutrition interventions for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases including the use of emerging technologies and plant-based dietary approaches.
