Dr. Chloe (Panizza) Lozano is an Assistant Professor in the Cancer Prevention in the Pacific (CPP) Population Sciences Program (PSP), at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center. Dr. Lozano received her PhD in Nutrition at the University of Hawaii, she is a Dietitian & received a Master's in Health Promotion from Curtin University, Western Australia.
Dr. Lozano's research is primarily centered around enhancing diet quality to prevent chronic conditions among children and adults in the Pacific region. She concentrates on several key areas, including the development and validation of technology based dietary assessment methods, mHealth based nutrition interventions, nutrition education, and enhancing existing community-based federal nutrition programs by coupling these programs with mHealth technology. The goal of partnering with federal nutrition programs is to improve the dissemination, implementation, and sustainability of her research.
